Creme Egg Brownie Recipe

So with 2 weeks left until they stop selling Creme Egg's, I have been asked on a daily basis to post my famous "Creme Egg Brownie" Recipe.. so here you go!

  • 200g Butter
  • 350g Dark Chocolate
  • 3 Eggs
  • 250g soft Brown Sugar
  • 50g Plain Flour

Firstly, put the butter and chocolate together in a heatproof bowl. Now, you can either simmer over a pan of boiling water until melted but I find this takes longer. Put in the microwave and set it for 30 seconds, taking it out every 10 seconds to stir. Once melted, set aside.

Next, place 3 eggs into a bowl and whisk until fluffy. Gradually add the sugar and whisk until light brown and frothy.

Once whisked, add the chocolate/butter to the bowl and slowly stir until combined.

Sift flour into the bowl and gently fold until combined. At this point, if you want to add any additional chocolate to the brownie mix I would do it now.

Place into a 9"X 9" tin and bake for 35- 40 mins. The brownie should have a slight wobble as it will continue to cook when out of the oven.

Whilst its cooking, get your creme eggs and cut them in half. They tend to have a little marking on them so you can see where you need to cut. After 35 mins of the brownie being in the oven, take out and place creme eggs on top.

After 3 mins, take brownie out and with a knife or skewer, gently stir the fondant around to create a messy top.

Leave out on the side to cool and put in fridge for at least an hour before cutting and eating

Tweet or email me if you have any questions about this recipe and I cant wait to see all your bakes!
